Dear Visitor,

In recent years, I have been able to rely on many young people in my efforts to renew Hungary’s foreign policy. Without them, I would not have been able to achieve my goal that foreign policy decisions should be based exclusively on Hungarian national interest. 

At the same time we also recognized in time the effects of the changing world economy, so we combined foreign policy and foreign trade under one ministry in the governmental structure  and made it clear that diplomacy must serve as a tool to promote Hungary’s national economic interests. 

Today, we can safely say that Hungary is one of the winners of the new world economic era, the shift in dimension of the Hungarian economy has been successful.

We are living in challenging times in world politics, so it is particularly important that diplomats representing Hungary are able to sit at the negotiating table around the world with courage, being prepared, o navigate conflicts if necessary as proud representatives of a thousand year old nation. 

I wish the students of the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy and the participants of its training courses success. I will count on you in the future.
